Playboy

On May 15th, 2010 at the Palms Hotel, Las Vegas
Hef & Playboy Announced

Playmate of the Year 2010
Hope Dworaczyk

and the Glamourcon On-The-Road Team was there

Hope Dworaczyk, The 2010 Playmate of the Year!

When Hugh Hefner and Playboy announced their 2010 Playmate of the Year, the popular Hope Dworaczyk, they did it with a twist. Skip the Luncheon/Dinner style of past PMOY events and go right to the higher energy Party with multimedia presentations, live music and even pyrotechnics.

Last year, the PMOY event moved from Playboy´s LA Mansion to the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. This year it was back at the Palms but was changed from a Luncheon/Dinner style event to a dance party in Rain, the Palms´ largest nightclub.

The Glamourcon On-The-Road Team changed it up a little too. The crew was a little smaller and they (I) traveled by motorcycle, packing some party clothes and camera gear in the saddlebags for the trip down California´s Sierra mountain range and then through Death Valley and Pahrump. It made the luxury of Vegas, the Palms and the excitement of the PMOY Party that much more impressive.

The event once again started with photo ops of the Playmates and celebs. They slowly made their way down the gauntlet of photographers vying for each beautiful ladies´ attention. Hef, Ida and Hope lead the procession, follow by many more lovelies. They also featured the new BMW sportbike as a "model" in front of the logo laden backdrop.

From here it immediately deviated from PMOY events of the past. The music was up and the lights were down. The "Rain" nightclub was in full swing as everyone left the papparazi walk. Gone were the large dinner tables, replaced by smaller more intimate tables. Each table was adorned with at least one bottle of Stoli Vodka and some mixers.

This years event host was Kevin Klein of the Playboy Morning Show (on Sirius radio) fame. After a bit of banter, he brought the beautiful PMOY 2006 Kara Monaco on stage. She introduced the multimedia spectacular for the first four Playmates of 2009. Then Dasha Astafieva, Miss January 2009, preformed with Julia Kavtardze as the duo "Nikita".

Next up was stunning PMOY 2009 Jayde Nicole, presenting the next four 2009 Playmates via multi-screen video. She was followed by the ultra-hot Playmate Dancers. These amazing ladies got the crowd worked into a frenzy with all the shaking and shimmying we could handle.

Then Ida Ljungqvist, the reigning PMOY from 2009, took the stage. Her first job was to spotlight the last four Playmates of 2009 in the 3rd media extravaganza.

"White Tie Affair" took the stage to perform a few songs including "Candle (Sick & Tired)". They were then joined on stage by the Playmate Dancers to whip up the crowd once again. The fireball pyrotechnics added to the atmosphere.

Next, Palms owner, George Maloof, appeared on stage. Maloof shared a few thoughts and then had the honor of introducing the man himself, Hugh M. Hefner, or, as the world affectionately refers to him, Hef.

Escorted by Ida, Hef came up to say a few words about Hope and share a few anecdotes about her and this year´s PMOY race. He introduced Hope Dworaczyk as Playboy´s 2010 Playmate of the Year. Ida and Hef then teamed up to present Hope with some of the perks of the win, a BMW Sportbike, her framed PMOY edition cover and of course, her cash.

Hope, a 25 year old beauty from Texas, took the mic a shared her Playboy experience with the audience. She included the story about her Grandmother, on hearing about her chance to be a Playmate, telling Hope to, "Go for it." This very articulate and charming young lady had the crowd in the palm of her hand.

Playboy finished up this special party with a mini concert by Grammy winner Robin Thicke. He preformed "Lost Without You" and dedicated it to our new PMOY Hope. She sat mesmerized on the piano on stage while he crooned to her.

Unfortunately, there was no group Playmate photo op this year. We, at the Glamourcon On-The-Road Team, loved this opportunity in the past. The venue didn´t lend itself to gathering the more than 50 beautiful Playmates together in a single place. Oh well... maybe next time.

And with that, the PMOY organized event was over. Rain cleared out quickly as attendees headed off to parties and other nightclubs; like Ghostbar, Moon, Alize, Playboy Club & more, spread throughout the Palms to continue celebrating Playboy´s Playmate of the year 2010, Hope Dworaczyk.

Glamourcon OTR Team would like to extend a huge thanks to Playboy for once again including us in the PMOY celebration. We appreciate it. (and enjoy it!)
